This experience takes place at the very heart of the former town of Coyoacán, its market, plazas, churches, and a stroll-by Frida Kahlo’s home and museum.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

This 3.5-hour walking experience takes you past the most important buildings and historical sites in Coyoacán. As we visit this traditional neighborhood, we will see the Parish of St. John the Baptist, a building intended to be a cathedral, see the Palace of Cortes and the home he shared with his wife, the native interpreter, Malintzin.

We will visit the farmers’ market, full of handicrafts and home to the best typical food tostadas. We will see the plaza and church of Santa Catarina, visit the Reyes Heroles cultural center, walk past the Italian Government’s Cultural Institute, and see the Coyotes’ and Hidalgo parks.

While at the parks we will see the traditional Siberia ice-cream parlor, the statue of Founding Father Miguel Hidalgo and walk past a typical cantina. Many other surprises await you, like the famous Jarocho coffee shop, the street vendors and in general, the unique atmosphere of Coyoacán.
