As women & diversity allies, we conduct the first Mexico City walking experience devoted entirely to sharing leading Mexican women’s history and influence at their homes, working places and monuments.

This experience takes place at two UNESCO World Heritage Sites.

What You Will Do

The tour takes you through the Historic Center, a World Heritage site, passing or visiting magnificent landmarks including beautiful former Catholic schools & convents.

We will unravel incredible stories at every turn, such as our Catholic Patroness Guadalupe and our founding mothers: Leona, Josefa & La Güera, plus world celebrities like Sor Juana Inés & Frida Kahlo, in multiple landmark buildings, museums, and monuments.

From ancient times to date, we will recall women who had a defining role in history, politics, arts, literature, education, religion, sports & science like Matilde Montoya, Mexico's first female physician.

You will learn about Mexico's greatest women whilst meandering through the streets in which they lived, finishing at the Museum of Women, displaying history from a gender perspective.

Where You Will Be

After starting next to Frida Kahlo’s former high school, we will visit it before proceeding to Plaza de Santo Domingo, the Palace of the Spanish Inquisition, the Old Medicine School, El Camino Real, working Federal Offices, the Old Central Customs House and the Museum of Women, all in the northern quarters of the city’s Historic Center.

At two of the main squares within the 16th century city limits, we will discover where all these famous women lived and worked by walking on the scene and sharing stories seldom told.  We will see historical sites, the home of the first Náhuatl-Spanish interpreter and another of one of our founding mothers among many others.

The Experience
